Things to do in/near Scottsdale, AZ?

My husband, my daughter, and I are going on vacation for the holidays. We will be visiting family in Scottsdale, Arizona. I really want to have a nice time, since this is the last vacation before my husband deploys in a few months, so I wanted to know some good things to do and see in or near Scottsdale. I would like some family oriented things to do and a few things that just my husband and I can do, since this is the first time in a very long time we have a babysitter. Thanks in advance!
