I have an inboard/outboard boat and i want to know if it's safe to wakesurf behind it?

i have an inboard/outboard ski boat to b e specific i have a Chaparral ssi 216. i wanted to know if i got a swim deck that would cover the engine would it be safe to wakesurf behind it?
